Creative problem-solving through design & research

MY WORK

šŸ‘‹ Hi, I’m Rebecca- a qualitative researcher and community builder, passionate about building better structures for support and well-being. Currently, I work as a Senior Qualitative Researcher at Code for America, to redesign safety net benefits in a people-centered way.

With a background in anthropology and a super-charged curiosity, I spent over a decade digging into the power of stories to influence change. Whether it’s working on civic design, improving healthcare systems, or domestic technologies, I use mixed methods for delivering key insights in interaction design. With an eye towards inclusion, I love working on cross-functional teams to create workable and authentic solutions.

In 2021, I completed my Master of Science in Human-Centered Design and Engineering at the The University of Washington, where I completed UX courses such as usability studies, quantitative methods, and prototyping. As a design researcher and strategist, I collaborate with tech and design teams through a range of research processes to create meaningful products and services. I am a current PhD candidate in HCDE facilitating community-based design for improving childcare access. Read my research publications here.
